Homeschooling with a boy... what an adventure!

I have three children as you can see and our days are always full of adventure!

One of the biggest adventures is figuring out how to "do" school with an almost five year old BOY!

This is what a day in this adventure looks like...

The little Knight thinks mommy needs some help on her hair!

While mommy works with the sisters on their reading he likes to do his "school"

If you have never heard of starfall you are in for a real treat!  This site keeps me sane!
My little knight loves the games and is learning while he plays!

After about twenty minutes of what he calls "his school" he lets everyone know that he is done and ready to be the center of attention!

Hey... Mommy always says to make a joyful noise!

The rest of the day... full of surprises as we go along!
Even though things are difficult with my little Knight running around I wouldn't trade these moments!  This post is not only to show you all what a handsome little Knight I have but also to remind myself that these "irritating" moments are precious
if I can remember to pause and really look at them!!!

Enjoy those precious, rowdy little boys!

  1. Thanks for the reminder to slow down and enjoy "those precious rowdy boys" as you put it (laughing)!! We are still learning what works to entertain the boys during the serious lessons with the girls when they need my undivided attention. I really DISLIKE using DVDs!!! I also dislike when I let them have free reign and then we have a huge mess to clean up. I'm having to be creative while giving them structured playtime. Sigh...harder than it seems.

  3. Hi-Thanks for your comment on my blog! We have been homeschooling one month so I am glad, well not "glad" but it makes me feel better to know that after 3 years you are still adjusting :-). looks like we enjoy a similar curriculum!

  4. Thanks for the reminder. Although I've only got 1 boy and not school age yet... it is still a challenge to entertain. And yes the years are fleeting!

  6. Trinity Mommy,
Can I ask what camera you have. I love your everyday pics and I'm interested in photography but know very little. Thanks Sheryl at Hazelnut Academy.
