On turning 30...

I turn 30 next week and to be honest I'm actually quite excited about it! Age has never been a negative thing for me. I have always adored little old ladies, old couples in the park and those crazy gray haired girlfriends out on road trips!

Recently, I have had many people come up to me and wonder if all these new adventures are because I'm turning 30 and going through some kind of crisis, uhhh NOPE sorry cant give you a good excuse for our craziness!

So... here are 30 things that I want to do in my 30th year

1) Do what I love and love what I do!

2) Be the crazy and unique "me" that Father created and find my identity in Him!

3) Have more picnics!

4) Dance in the rain.

5) Finish writing a book of poems.

6) Hoop on the beach.

7) Make donuts with the kiddos!

8) Write every day!

9) Ride a horse and tackle my fear of those crazy smart creatures!

10) Practice more Yoga at home!

11) Meditate each day.

12) Cook new and creative, colorful meals!

13) Write more "real" letters to my family and friends!

14) Play!

15) Get lost and like it!

16) Meet new friends.

17) Capture special memories with my camera to keep forever!

18) Communicate better those crazy thoughts and feelings that are within, stop being afraid!

19) Find beauty every day and be thankful for it!

20) Read every day books, poetry that will inspire!

21) Drink more water

22) Start a ritual of walking in the evening with my man to talk about the day.

23) Cuddle with my kiddos more!

24) Create magic through storytelling!

25) Be adventurous and order new items when eating out instead of the "safe" stuff.

26) Swim in CLEAR ocean water

27) Take a midnight walk on the beach!

28) Watch a new romance begin.

29) Dream more with my husband and get HIM to write posts on here :)

30) Say YES more!

  1. What a great post! I remember turning 30. I was pregnant with my first child. It's wonderful to know that others (even younger than we are) have taken that step to live on the move. Happy Birthday! I wish you all the best on your list!

  5. Love your list and happy happy early Birthday! I love #22 & #24. So many of ours are similar ... I think we're on a similar creative and spiritual quest! Love and peace and joy to you, Heather :).

  6. Love this post! I admit that I did not turn 30 gracefully. I'm sure I stressed out, cut my hair and did something stupid! LOL I do have to say that I finally began to feel comfortable in my own skin around that time though. I'll be 40 in a couple years and though my kids...you know, teenagers...tease me, that's one birthday I'm actually looking forward to! And as for taking walks with your hubby everynight, that's one way my husband and I have stayed sane since embarking on our RV adventure...that alone time is so important even if its just a quick walk to the bath house! Happy Birthday, I hope you have an incredibly blessed day!:)

  7. I turned 30 in November. I'll admit it ~ I wasn't as thrilled as you are. So bless your heart for that. Now that I've been living it out for the past several months... 30 ain't so bad. ;)
I adore your list of things you want to do... and some sound so similar to what I would write in a list of 30.
This is fabulous... keep walking in your excitement.
