Joy In The Detours

jump

I have tried to figure out how to write this post over and over and over again.

I have feared what others will say or think, pride is a nasty monster I tell ya!

Our journey and desires of traveling are coming to an end. It has been a wonderful detour and Father has taught us much but it is time for a new chapter in our story.

After much prayer we have decided to keep the business that we have been so blessed to have.
If Father could sell our home the day the sign went up He too could have also sold the business if that was His plan, His will for our "story."

We are not tied to things anymore and are beginning our search for a new smaller place to call home. You can follow that journey here at Cottage Chronicles. Please pray that all is made clear as we take this bend in the road.

I want to leave you with one of my favorite poems!

The Road Not Taken
Robert Frost:

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

  1. One of my favorite poems also. I need to read it more to encourage myself that it is OK to be out-of-the-norm, to take that path that no one else seems to be taking.

  2. LOVE that poem. Don't be ashamed girl! You may have thought the Lord would teach you different lessons through this journey but HE always surprises us with exactly what HE wants to teach us. Can't wait to see the next journey in your lives.

  3. Oh, it's still as exciting as ever, CB!

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord … Psalm 37:23

  4. Oh, I am SO happy for you! Sometimes we have to take detours to learn what is really important to us. Please embrace your decision ... what is right for you is right for YOU, and no one else matters, okay?

Much love to a sweet woman ...

  5. Love that poem, embroidered it on a pillow! Acquiring wisdom is the blessing of getting older and that happens by living life and listening to the Father, letting Him nudge us this way and that. Learning along the way. Love it!
