What fun we had in Old Salem! We held hands and walked through the streets admiring the beauty of the architecture and design. We ooohed and ahhhed over the flooring, lights and vintage utensils! We played with old fashion children's toys that were simple and wooden.
Oh to live in simpler times!
This step back in time reminded us all that plastic is not needed for playtime but running around, climbing rocks and making memories like these together rein much higher!
As we play with the idea of purchasing a home in the mountains we spoke of toys, time and memories. The desire to only bring in lovely things, the best things that encourage imagination and togetherness will be our priority. I am hoping that all of our trips around our country will be as magical as this one!
My little ones enjoyed pumping water for a school group breaking to wash their hands.
As always, the rocks beckon us to climb and play!
Our favorite stop: The C. Winkler Baker
Washington DC is up next in our travels!
