Each year we give our kids the option to have a big party OR be boss for the day and each time they choose to be the boss! We always have so much fun seeing what they pick to do with the family time that we have together. I wouldn't trade these moments for anything.
Occasionally we find ourselves at friends or families houses and they decide to do something special themselves.
I'm amazed at how quickly our friends become our family:
Big birthday hugs from one of the Aunties.

We are blessed to be surrounded with such great friends and family!
So soon and it will be Cayla's day to be the boss!
ReplyDeleteI know! She will be celebrating hers a few days early since the weekends as you know are insane for us. The mailman is picking up a letter from my mailbox me to you today. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is sweet:)
ReplyDeleteI love this idea!
ReplyDeleteAww - we too have been blessed with incredible friends who have stepped in and become like family to us. It is so precious as we live so far from family.
ReplyDeleteI *love* your idea of "boss for a day" *or* a big party... right now my boys {3 and 4} get to pick whomever they'd like to come to their party - the last two parties have consisted of our entire church getting invitations to come!
We had 47 people at the 3 yr olds party this week! We want to encourage the non-peer parties, but the boss for a day idea is a keeper in case we're ever in a position where we can't open our home up to "everyone."
It's been a long time since I've seen a "hand crank" ice cream freezer... but oh how good it tastes! Loved visiting here today... Blessings, my friend!
